Our products are made right in our own home workshop. We start by putting our heads together to design the piece, then we cut and glue the leather before stitching it all together either by hand or with our industrial leather stitcher. It's a hands-on process that takes a lot of care and attention to detail, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We choose to use Brazilian leather for our products, which is sourced from our Australian leather supplier. Over the years we have found a preference for the strength and durability of Brazilian leather over Italian leather, which can be more soft and supple, and from our experience, prone to quicker wear and tear.

Taking good care of your handmade item is essential for its longevity. To keep your leather goods supple, it's important to condition them regularly with a cream-based neutral polish, and applying a colourless waterproof spray every few months will give them extra protection. You can find our favourite leather conditioner here.

Unfortunately, we're not able to offer in-person visits to our workshop as we work from our home. However, Sarina still works a couple days a week with her father at Mario's Shoe Service. If you pay her a visit she can showcase her designs in person, explain the process and answer any questions you may have. Currently, she's available on Friday 8-3.30pm. Alternatively, we'd love for you to check out our Instagram account @faunaandthemoon.leather, where we post behind-the-scenes videos and photos of our creation process and products.

Our creation times are currently 4-6 working days before being shipped. Once shipped, you can expect your order to arrive within 3-5 business days if you're in Australia, while international shipping might take a bit longer - about 7-20 business days. We offer flat-rate shipping of $8 within Australia. Check out our International Shipping FAQ to find out more about shipping costs.
